a few people have asked me to explain this "carrying a cat on a shoulder" phenomenon. all i can say is that it's not exclusive to syracuse. once in bethlehem i saw a kid riding a bike with a kitten clutching to his back. i hope this mode of pet transport catches on and becomes standard practice.
